The Pablo Smoke Black is often referred to as a ‘double black’ jean because it has a black warp on the outside of the fabric and an off-black weft on the inside. This deep black denim fabric was sourced at the niche Japanese mill Nihon Menpu and it has a black selvedge line.
The Pablo Smoke Black jeans have tonal stitching and are made in an artisanal denim factory in Kojima, Japan.

Japan took denim workwear and transformed it into indigo art. Together with our local Japanese partners Hiro and Enami-san we created a Japanese Tenue. product line because we simply love the authenticity of Japanese fabrics. We partnered with Sunami-san who is a second-generation denim ’sommelier’ from Kojima, the denim capital of Japan. All our patterns are still hand-cut and every single Tenue. jean is sewn by hand.
